09.01.1997 Strahan based fishing vessel
broke up in heavy seas off Pieman R.
with loss of John Fee (46) ~Master
and Michael Cadby (23) ~ Deckhand
Sole survivor Peter Fee (14) reached
shore near Conical Rocks and was
rescued by F.V. Eastern Star

Tragically, just six months later the Eastern Star was itself overwhelmed by a large wave causing it to sink with the loss of three crew.
